Adult Bible Study Groups
God reveals Himself to us through His Word the Bible. We have five different Bible study groups for adults. They meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30am. In addition to practical Bible study there is a wonderful fellowship and friendship among the members of these smaller classes.
Bus Ministry
Our church makes a significant investment in children and young people through the Bus Ministry. Three busses cover much of the Sissonville area to provide transportation for the Sunday morning and Wednesday night programs.
Children’s Church
Sometimes young children have a difficult time in a worship service that is designed for teens and adults. That is why on Sunday mornings we offer Junior Church and Primary Church for children. They sing, give offerings have testimonies and hear the Bible message – just like “big church” but on a level appropriate for kids.
H.E.L.P.
H.E.L.P ministry was started 2009 as a group of servant hearted individuals who pool their effort for special projects. Regularly the H.E.L.P team assembles Bibles to send to various mission fields.
Ladies’ Fellowship
In addition to an active calendar of special projects and events, each spring the Ladies’ Fellowship of the church hosts an annual conference for women called The Daughters of the King Ladies Conference.
Missions
We take very seriously our Lord’s command to “go into all the world and preach the gospel.” Our church provides regular prayer and financial support to over sixty-five missionary families or missions projects around the world. Examples of these would be: The Loftis family, planting churches in Australia; the Pauley’s, planting churches in Canada; and the Humphreys, planting churches in New Zealand.
Music
If you enjoy good music, you will love Maranatha Baptist Church. Music is a key aspect of every service and age group. The big Church Choir will warm your heart each Sunday. The collective singing of the congregation is a wonderful unification of hearts toward God. A wide variety of groups and soloists present special music in every service. These groups include: the Maranatha Men’s Quartet, Sounds of Praise Ensemble, Gospel Light Trio, Daughters of the King, Children’s Choir, and the Teen Choir.
Nursery
Providing safe and healthy child-care for infants and toddlers is an important part of Maranatha’s family-friendly church. Your infants and toddlers receive loving care and attention in the nursery during all of the services. “Mommy-pagers” give you peace of mind to know that the Nursery staff can contact you anytime during the services.
Outreach and Evangelism
We desire to tell the message of God’s love to every person in our community and beyond. Our variety of soulwinning and visitation programs place our members in the neighborhoods with information about our church and the message of the gospel.
SOAR Clubs
SOAR Clubs is the youth ministry of Maranatha for teens in middle school and high school. This is a fast-paced, high energy program featuring games, skits, video segments, singing, prayer, and topical discussions of issues facing teens. We believe that Bible principles are the key tools that teens need in order to live a successful life. The teen group has regular outings, rallies and activities that involve sports, food, Christian service and fun.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School offers a class for every age group. Children and teens meet for helpful Bible lessons in small group settings. Our Sunday School teachers love children and teens. They have many years of experience. Sunday School meets at 9:30am on Sunday.
Worship and Preaching Services
The collective worship services of our church family are the highlights of the week. The friendly atmosphere, uplifting music, testimonies, prayer time, and fellowship prepare hearts and minds for the Bible messages from our Pastor. The preaching of the Word of God is the center-piece of these services.
In the winter months we are thankful to offer a family-friendly recreational basketball league for elementary aged kids. The kids learn the fundamentals of basketball as well as the importance of team-work, attitude, and sportsmanship.
Venture Clubs
These clubs, for preschool and elementary aged children, gather on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm. They learn key principles from the Bible, play exciting games, and enjoy a variety of fun activities.
